The Fat Envelope
UI/UX Case Study
Project Brief
Redesigning the responsive app to add a login/signup and a member profile area so that users that login and create a profile will have access to a community page, college application calendar/checklist, and a place to organize their college choices. Also adding an Ebook library for relevant college application information, ACT/SAT test studying, and college-specific essay samples, which will be accessible for paying members.
The Problem
Website owner currently has college application information but needs personalization of The Fat Envelope Website for students, parents, and teachers. The new screens and features need to fit into the current website design and UI starting with mobile first.

The objective of the redesign is to make the website feel more personalized for each user, give them access to some really helpful features for free and encourage them to pay a small fee to have access to the Ebook library. By adding these areas the user will be encouraged
to have their parents purchase a College Admissions Consultant Package for them on the website and already feel a certain loyalty and community within The Fat Envelope. Students can also earn point rewards (time with a consultant) by finishing certain tasks.

Students need a place to start and organize their college search and the website company wants a way to gain more users, earn loyalty, passive income, and possible leads for paying customers for the College Consulting packages.

Students need the new features to help themselves through the college application process. The free features are enough to get students started in the college admissions process and will allow low-income student access to these very needed sources. The owner of the site is trying to build potential loyalty with new and returning users, parents, and teachers so that they will eventually be interested in purchasing a consulting or group webinar package.
